Basic Analysis for 2008
At first glance, the basic elements are lacking of Fire and Metal to maintain balance and harmony. However, hidden elements of Earth and Fire are found in the Earth Branch of the Month Pillar “YIN” and hidden elements of Fire and Metal are found in the Earth Branches of the Day and Hour Pillars of “XU” bringing a slight balance of elements to the chart. However, all the 4 pillars are predominantly Yang which is not harmonious.

Careers
The Self element is Strong Wood. There are also many wood elements in the four pillars indicating the presence of strong competition. The Heavenly Stems of Wood (Month) controlling Earth (Year) suggests underlying tensions and conflicts can be expected throughout the year. Thus, healthy competition will give way to bitter rivalry.
Business
Although there is the presence of strong wealth element indicating many opportunities for wealth, the presence of strong competitors will affect the opportunities and the amassment of wealth. In general, expect keen competition for the limited resources. Competitive demand will outstrip supply for metals like gold, silver and liquid gold (oil).
Investments
The lack of a strong presence of Fire suggests a weaker stock market performance relative to the previous year.
Properties
The property market is expected to stabilize in 2008, although the Earth elements are strong, its output element is weak and the wealth element is minimal. The increase supply of units coming into markets will affect the returns on property speculations.
Relationships
The presence of Zi which represents peach blossom (Tao Hua) in the year pillar has different implications ranging from the negative to the positive aspects of relationships. In general, because of the strong presence of competition and bitter rivalry, for Tao Hua to be positive, it must be a favourable element in relation to your Day Master. Otherwise, it is better to be fully aware of the negative aspects and effects of Tao Hua in a year of strong competition and bitter rivalry.
